What is Accreditation

Accreditation is the independent evaluation of conformity assessment bodies against recognised standards to carry out specific activities to ensure their impartiality and competence.

Definition

According to ISO/IEC 17011, accreditation means: 'third-party attestation related to a conformity assessment body, conveying formal demonstration of its competence, impartiality and consistent operation in performing specific conformity assessment activities.'

Why it matters

Accreditation delivers confidence that certificates, inspection reports and test results are technically valid and internationally recognised — reducing duplication of effort and building trust between buyers, sellers, regulators and consumers.

The UKGlobalCert approach

UKGlobalCert operates as an independent, impartial certification body. Our accreditation processes follow the international norms set by IAF, ILAC and their member bodies, ensuring that every certificate we issue carries the same weight worldwide.
